Thick rolled oats

The large oat flakes are made from whole grain oat groats. The selection of the grains is done carefully, requiring uniform white oats free from disease.

These grains are subsequently steamed to inactivate the lipolytic enzymes and flaked to the required thickness. Their color should be cream and uniform, and their flavor and aroma should be appetizing.

Preparation for cooking large oats

Ingredients	1 Serving	4 Portions
Water	175 ml (1 cup)	575 ml (3 cups)
Salt	pinch	½ tsp
Oat flakes	75 ml (1/3 cup)	325 ml (1 1/3 cups)

Instructions :

Bring the water and salt to a boil in a covered pot; stir in the oats.
Bring to a boil; reduce the heat and let simmer.
Cook for 7 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
(Optional) Cover and let rest until desired consistency.

Add more or less water according to the desired texture
You can add milk, brown sugar, maple syrup, or a pinch of cinnamon to your taste.
